A moment to remember the first

"Mischief" - Mischief XII RN (9/23/99-12/6/06) - my first dog ever and the first of my heart dogs. She was strictly a pet, but she was a wonderful companion. She ran the house and kept the rest of my guys in line. She was the reason I got started in showing and competing in Rally. Lost her too soon and I still miss her every day.

Today we take a moment to remember the first Siberian and founding member of the Hairy Horde.  This is Mischief (or as the Momma liked to call her "Ms. Chief". ""Moose" or even just "Mis". 7 years ago she crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the very young age of 7.

She was the Momma's first dog, and very, very special to her.  She was a very regal lady - and ran the home with an iron paw clad in velvet.  One look from her and you knew you needed to behave!

Without her, none of the rest of us would be here as part of the Horde. In some ways she was a true Siberian - stubborn, independent and opinionated.  In others, she was not.  If she ever got loose, she would only run a couple of houses either way and would come back when called!  One time, the storm door was WIDE OPEN  and she just sat on the step inside and looked out!  The Momma was so proud of her (we have no idea why, wouldn't it have been better to run and explore?).

So we woo in honor of Mischief and we're taking a bit of time today to snuggle with the Momma.  She's feeling a bit melancholy today and we want to make her feel better. Take a moment and hug your furbabies today and remember those that have gone ahead and are still loved and missed.

My sweet Mischief was one of a kind.  I miss her deeply every day, and knowing that today was a lifetime (for her) that she has been gone has made me a bit teary-eyed. Time had dulled the pain of losing her far too soon, but I will always remember the time I had with her. She wears her Silver Harness with pride, and I know she watches over us. Love you lots, baby girl!
